I’m a small-town girl, wife, mom, Christian, curly-haired homemaker, content creator, and forever researcher with a heart for whole-person living. There are seasons where God feels beautifully near.

And there are seasons where everything feels… quiet.

I used to believe the quiet meant I had done something wrong.

Now I know better.

Faith was never meant to rest on feelings.

It rests on the unchanging character of God.

The same God who felt close on the mountaintop is still faithfully present in the valley.

If your prayers feel small today…

Pray them anyway.

If opening your Bible feels more like discipline than delight…

Open it anyway.

Roots don’t stop growing just because we can’t see them.

If you’re walking through a quiet season, I hope this reminds you that silence is not absence.

I spent so much time asking God to strengthen me for the weight I was carrying, when maybe He was asking me to set some of it down.

I spent so much time asking God to strengthen me for the weight I was carrying, when maybe He was asking me to set some of it down.

For years, my mornings felt rushed before they even began.

I would wake up already behind.

Thinking about everything I needed to do.

Everyone who needed me.

Everything I hadn’t finished.

Even breakfast felt like another task to check off.

But something has changed.

Not because life suddenly became easy.

Not because I finally found the “perfect” routine.

Because Jesus has been teaching me that peace isn’t something I find after everything gets done.

It’s something I choose to practice in the middle of ordinary moments.

So these days, my mornings look different.

I open the blinds.

I thank God for another day.

I make a breakfast that nourishes my body instead of running on stress.

I sit down.

I breathe.

I remember that my worth isn’t measured by how much I accomplish before 9 a.m.

These aren’t complicated habits.

They’re ordinary rhythms.

But they’ve become sacred because they remind me that stewardship isn’t about doing more.

It’s about faithfully caring for what God has already entrusted to me.

So many of you have asked what I actually use each morning, so I linked the things I reach for most often. Not because those things create peace…

But because they’ve become small tools that support the rhythms God has been building in my life.

If you had asked me a year ago what I wanted God to heal…

I would’ve said my body.

The pain.

The exhaustion.

The sleepless nights.

I wanted relief.

And there’s nothing wrong with praying for that.

But somewhere along the way, my prayers began to change.

Not because my body suddenly stopped hurting.

But because Jesus started showing me that there were places inside my heart that had been carrying pain long before my body ever did.

Places that expected disappointment.

Places that believed love had to be earned.

Places that never fully rested because they were always preparing for the next hurt.

I don’t think I realized how much of my life I was seeing through those wounds.

I thought I was seeing reality.

Maybe I was seeing people… like trees.

Not clearly.

Not the way Jesus intended.

I don’t believe He’s only interested in healing our symptoms.

I believe He’s also interested in healing our sight.

Teaching us to see ourselves through grace instead of shame.

To see others through truth instead of old wounds.

To see our future through hope instead of fear.

I’m still praying for my body.

But these days, I’m also praying something else.

“Jesus… keep teaching me to see.”

Because maybe the greatest miracle He’s doing in my life isn’t changing my circumstances overnight.

Maybe it’s changing the way I walk through them.

And somehow…

that has changed everything.

One thought.

He invites us to find rest in Him.

But because He never intended His children to carry every burden as though it depended on them.

That realization has changed the way I approach healing.

Not as a search for the next miracle product.

But as a daily practice of stewardship.

Nourishing my body.

Renewing my mind.

Resting my soul.

One ordinary day at a time.

I used to think healing was mostly about food.

Then supplements.

Then hormones.

Then nervous system regulation.

Today, I was walking past a house being built down our dirt road.

It stopped me in my tracks.

First came the foundation.

Then the frame.

The bones.

Only after that does someone decide what kind of home it will become.

A farmhouse.

A craftsman.

Modern.

Traditional.

Then they choose what fills the inside…

the colors,

the furniture,

the atmosphere,

and most importantly…

who gets to live there.

And I couldn’t stop thinking…

Isn’t that exactly what God did with us?

Before we ever took our first breath, He formed us with purpose.

He knew every joy.

Every wound.

Every disappointment.

Every prayer we’d whisper years before we ever existed.

But life has a way of inviting other things to move in.

Fear.

Self-protection.

Hypervigilance.

People-pleasing.

The constant feeling that you have to hold everything together.

For years I thought chronic stress was just something happening to my body.

Now I’m beginning to see that survival became the atmosphere of my soul.

And my body simply reflected the house I had been living in.

Maybe that’s why I’ve been so moved by what God has been teaching through our pastor lately.

He’s been reminding me that Jesus didn’t come just to repair broken rooms.

He came to make us His dwelling place again.

Maybe healing isn’t simply learning how to manage stress.

Maybe it’s learning how to come home.

Today, ask yourself:

Who has been living inside your house?
